Enjoy an unforgettable experience in Montenegro on a private boat cruise, travelling along the Bay of Kotor from Tivat to Perast.

The Bay of Kotor, often referred to as Boka Bay, is a stunning natural inlet located on the Adriatic Sea in southwestern Montenegro. It is known for its dramatic scenery, crystal-clear waters, and rich cultural heritage. The city is renowned for its ancient city walls, narrow streets, and historic landmarks. On this enjoyable cruise, you will visit some of the most popular coastal towns and beautiful islands in Kotor Bay.

For this activity, the guide will start by picking you up from your accommodation in Kotor Bay and driving you to Tivat. Tivat is a coastal town in southwestern Montenegro known for its picturesque setting, Mediterranean climate, and luxury yacht marina. Here, you’ll board a comfortable cruise ship with your private group. The experienced captain will set sail into the blue Adriatic Sea, cruising towards the iconic islands of St George and Our Lady of the Rocks!

At Our Lady of the Rocks, you’ll exit the boat and explore the island. It is a man-made island and one of the most iconic landmarks in the region, holding significant cultural and religious importance. The island's origins date back to the 15th century when, according to legend, local fishermen discovered an icon of the Virgin Mary and Child on a rock in the bay. In gratitude for their safe return from a difficult voyage, they began throwing stones and sinking old ships filled with rocks in the same spot, gradually creating the artificial island. Today, a traditional ceremony is held each year on July 22nd, where local residents gather in boats and throw rocks into the sea around the island, continuing the age-old custom of adding stones to the foundation.

St. George, situated right beside Our Lady of the Rocks, is a natural island surrounded by stone walls, hidden from view by the high cypress canopy. After visiting the islands, you’ll hop back on the boat and continue sailing to Stoliv, a small coastal village situated between Kotor and Tivat. Here, you can take a swimming break in the refreshing waters, while admiring the stunning view of the coastline. After swimming, the captain will sail to Perast, another coastal village in Kotor Bay.

Perast is known for its historic architecture and maritime heritage, with many well-preserved Baroque buildings and elegant palaces. It is situated at the foot of St. Elijah Hill and overlooks the tranquil waters of the bay. You’ll have some time to explore the town of Perast and enjoy an optional lunch. After, you’ll sail past a few more beautiful islands in the area, the Island of Flowers, the Island of Saint Marko and the island where the church of Our Lady of Mercy is located. You’ll have another swimming stop at the island, basking in the hot sun! Finally, you’ll return to Tivat and be transferred back to your accommodation in Kotor Bay.

This private boat cruise in Kotor Bay is the perfect day out for exploring Montenego’s southwestern coastal towns and charming islands! Book your cruise now to visit Perast, Our Lady of The Rocks Island, St George Island, Stoliv and Tivat.
