Objectives
During the time spent in the wilderness, data will be collected for a citizen science project. A strong commitment is placed on conservation, regenerative travel, and the protection of Arctic nature. With your participation, data will be gathered and utilized in environmental research and the Responsible Tourism Project to support sustainable practices across the region.
Activity requirements
You must be able to walk at least 200 metres/656 feet in icy, slippery, uneven, muddy or snowy conditions to take part in this activity.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the departure time.
A minimum number of 4 participants is required to run this activity.
Special terms
Please be advised that the temperatures may be extremely cold (sometimes below -30 °C/-22 F). Please ensure you are wearing appropriate clothing underneath your thermal suit.
Since the Northern Lights are an unpredictable natural phenomenon, their presence is never guaranteed.

Located in Northern Norway, Tromsø is one of the best places in the world to observe the breathtaking natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights. During this excursion, you'll leave the lights of the city behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness in search of the best places to view the Aurora Borealis. Beforehand, your local guide will check the forecasts and use their expertise to decide upon the best spot to chase the Northern Lights.
Once the location has been decided, you and your group, will put on your winter gear of thermal suits and boots. Then, you'll gather around a cosy campfire and enjoy a delicious meal. You'll relax, unwind, and take in the vibrant colours of the Northern Lights. In addition, your guide is happy to offer nighttime photo-taking tips and will take pictures of you and your group to mark the occasion. (They will be sent to you after the tour.) Afterwards, you'll be treated to a steaming cup of hot chocolate before the transfer back to Tromsø. The perfect way to end such an unforgettable evening!
