Located in the northernmost part of Finland, deep within the Arctic Circle, Finnish Lapland is famous for its breathtaking wilderness, unforgettable Arctic adventures, and extraordinary natural phenomena. Among the region’s most iconic winter activities are ice fishing and snowmobiling, loved by both locals and visitors alike. On this 4-hour tour from Levi, you’ll get to experience both — guided by an expert local! We promise an unforgettable time discovering these must-do winter activities amid Lapland’s stunning snowy landscapes.
Your adventure begins in Sirkka, where you’ll be picked up from the meeting point and driven to the snowmobile departure area. Once there, you’ll suit up in your thermal gear before receiving a safety briefing and an introduction to snowmobiling techniques from your experienced guide. Helmet on — and you’re ready to ride! You’ll head off through enchanting Arctic forests and pristine winter scenery toward a perfect ice-fishing spot on a frozen lake or river.
During your snowmobile safari from Levi, there will be plenty of opportunities to stop for photos, take in the panoramic views, and switch drivers (as long as both participants hold a valid driver’s licence). Upon arrival, your guide will provide ice-drilling equipment and show you how to drill your own fishing hole. The thick, solid ice is completely safe to walk on, even in sub-zero temperatures. While you try your luck catching perch, roach, or even whitefish, your guide will prepare a small campfire. If you’re lucky and make a catch, you can grill your fish right there on the ice! You’ll also enjoy hot drinks and sweet buns before snowmobiling back to Sirkka.
