To the south of Lisbon, between Sesimbra and Setúbal, the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park offers one of the most spectacular settings in Europe for stand-up paddleboarding. This protected sanctuary at the heart of the Arrábida Natural Park is defined by its turquoise waters and imposing limestone cliffs that shelter the bays from the prevailing winds. Gliding along on your board, you'll discover natural gems such as Praia dos Coelhos and the celebrated beaches of Galápos and Galapinhos — regularly ranked among the most beautiful on the continent. The Luiz Saldanha Marine Park is an area of exceptional biodiversity where the clarity of the Atlantic allows you to observe the seabed directly from your SUP.
Your stand-up paddleboarding excursion from Creiro Beach begins with a technical introduction from the WIND team — outdoor experts with over 30 years of experience. Once you've got to grips with your equipment, you'll paddle towards the island of Anicha, the ideal spot for an optional snorkelling break to observe the marine flora and fauna up close. Back on your board, you'll hug the wild coastline between Portinho da Arrábida and Praia de Alpertuche, exploring mysterious caves and coves accessible only from the sea.
This stand-up paddleboarding session in Arrábida is designed to be accessible to everyone, whether you're a complete beginner or a regular paddler. Guidance from certified instructors ensures optimal safety throughout, allowing you to focus entirely on the beauty of the landscape and the sense of freedom on the water. Equipment provided includes stable boards and, depending on weather conditions, a 4/3mm neoprene wetsuit for complete thermal comfort. At the end of the session, a friendly debrief gives everyone the chance to share their highlights and observations from this exceptional natural park.
Thanks to its sheltered position, the Arrábida bay allows stand-up paddleboarding sessions year-round. This activity is ideal for those looking to combine gentle exercise with quiet contemplation in an unspoilt setting. As places are limited to 12 participants to preserve the quality of the experience, we recommend booking your slot in advance — particularly during the summer season.
Book your stand-up paddleboarding adventure from Creiro Beach now and set off to uncover the secrets of the Portuguese coastline at Arrábida!
