Did you know that hidden within the Arrábida Natural Park lies a unique geological gem, renowned as one of Portugal's finest climbing destinations? Towering above the turquoise waters of the Atlantic between Sesimbra and Setúbal, the Fenda da Arrábida is a spectacular geo-monument, protected by ancient endemic flora, offering limestone walls rising several tens of metres high. Climbing in the Arrábida Natural Park means immersing yourself in a wild vertical sanctuary less than an hour's drive from Lisbon, where the only sound to break the silence is the cry of seabirds nesting in the cliffs.
Your climbing session from Creiro Beach begins with a technical introduction in which the WIND team — with 30 years of expertise behind them — presents the high-end climbing equipment (helmet, harness, safety lanyard, and more). After a short transfer by van to the heart of the Fenda, you'll learn the basics of belaying and rope progression techniques. You'll then set off to tackle a series of rock faces adapted to your level. Under the watchful eye of instructors accredited by the Portuguese National Mountain School, you'll feel the exhilaration of vertical climbing whilst enjoying unique panoramic views over the Portuguese coastline.
Available year-round thanks to the mild microclimate of the Setúbal region, this outing is the perfect opportunity to push your limits in the heart of nature. Slots fill up quickly at weekends and during the summer season, so we recommend booking ahead. Reserve your climbing session from Creiro Beach in the Arrábida Natural Park now and get ready to conquer the heights of the Fenda!
