About the activity

Unlike canyoning, water trekking in the Gorges du Verdon offers greater freedom of movement without the need for a rope or harness, making it ideal for youngsters as young as 7 or 12 depending on the course you choose! Followed by a qualified guide to ensure your safety, you will descend the course in 1.5 to 2 hours, taking in the magnificent scenery and the guide's knowledge of the flora, fauna and geology of this exceptional site.

In small groups of no more than 10 participants, you will set off on an aquatic hike in the Verdon Gorges, around 30 minutes by shuttle bus from Castellane. Once you have reached the canyon, the aim of the game will be to let yourself be guided by the direction of the current while having fun: swimming and floatting sessions, descents down slides and jumps (all of which can be bypassed) await you to add to the thrills of your aquatic hike in the Gorges du Verdon!

We had an amazing time with all tbe family in beautiful scenery. It was great fun being swept down the river and jumping in from tbe walls to the side. It felt very safe thanks to our excellent guide.

Fantastic guides. A hour into our hike it started to rain heavily. Our guides guarded us in a calm, cheerful and professional manner. We enjoyed our activity regardless of the weather, not even the children got scared.

Aquatic Hiking in Gorges du Verdon was one of our best days in France. The tour was well organized and Duncan our guide was excellent and made sure the two English speakers felt safe and included. Floating down the river, jumping off rocks, and navigating mini rapids was exactly what we hoped for but the beauty of the locations surpassed all expectations. The walk back up the canyon steps when you are done was the hardest part.
