Practical information

Open Water SSI training in Saint-Leu, enabling you to dive to a depth of 20 metres in a group.

A course consisting of 6 training dives
Theoretical knowledge delivered online
At the end of the course and your final theory test (MCQ), you will receive a Level 1 card with international equivalence, enabling you to prove your level throughout the world

Course of events

Please allow around 3.5 hours for each session.

Welcome at the Excelsus diving centre in Saint-Leu, 5 minutes before the start of the activity (free parking around the centre and in town)
Administrative formalities
Allocation of materials and equipment in the centre's cabins
Journey to the port of Saint-Leu in your own vehicle or in a car pool with other participants (approx. 5 minutes / 3 km)
Boarding the boat
Navigation to the dive site (5 to 25 minutes, depending on the site) with a briefing on the dive and safety instructions.
Launch with your instructor from the boat's rear platform and finalise your equipment on the water's surface
Immersion for your dive
Once back at the surface, you will remove your equipment in the water before returning to the boat for a hot drink
Sailing back to the port of Saint-Leu (5 to 25 minutes)
Return journey by car to the dive centre
Debriefing of the experience with your instructor, plan of your next session and opportunity to shower and use the toilet at the end of the activity

Knowing how to behave during your future explorations and how to react calmly to certain unforeseen events
Knowing the risks associated with scuba diving and how to protect yourself against them
Being able to dive in a group of 4 divers with a dive master, to a depth of 20 metres

Activity requirements

All participants need to have done a first dive or passed a Basic Diver course to take part in this activity.

All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

You must not have any medical contraindications to taking part in this activity (heart or breathing problems, asthma, epilepsy, etc.). If you have a serious medical history, consult your doctor.

Please arrive 5 minutes before the start of the activity.

This activity is not accessible to pregnant people.

Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.

If you wish, you can obtain double ANMP certification for an additional €30, payable on the spot.

Please note you are not allowed to fly for up to 24 hours after your last dive.

Practical information

PA20 training (autonomous diver to 20 metres) in Saint-Leu, which will enable you to dive to a depth of 20 metres independently (in pairs), accessible after obtaining your Level 1 / Open Water and completing 20 dives.

Practical information

PE40 training (supervised diver to 40 metres) in Saint-Leu, which will enable you to dive to a depth of 40 metres in a group of 4 divers, accessible after obtaining your Level 1 / Open Water and completing 20 dives.

A course consisting of 4 training dives in the natural environment, in the 20-40 metre zone
Theoretical knowledge delivered online
At the end of the course, you will receive an ANMP (Association Nationale des Moniteurs de Plongée) card

NB: if you have already passed your PA20, the PE40 course automatically gives you Level 2!

About the activity

If you have already completed your first dive and want to keep exploring the underwater world, the Open Water / Level 1 course is your next adventure!
